Ronnie O’Sullivan Reveals Career Regrets and Future Aspirations

# Ronnie O’Sullivan Opens Up on Past Regrets and Future Hopes

Ronnie O’Sullivan has candidly discussed his struggles with snooker, revealing he’s giving himself two more years to rediscover his love for the game before considering retirement. The seven-time world champion, who recently returned to practice after a burnout-induced break, remains undecided about competing in this year’s World Championship.

## Battling Burnout and Regrets

The 49-year-old admits he’s been “burnt out” after years of frustration with his form, even snapping his cue in anger earlier this year. O’Sullivan reflects on past mistakes, particularly tinkering with his natural technique as a teenager, which he believes led to long-term problems.

“I wouldn’t want anyone I care about to go through what I went through,” O’Sullivan told Mail Sport. “From 17 up until now, it’s taken its toll. It starts to sap away at your happiness.”

## The Road Ahead

Despite his struggles, O’Sullivan isn’t ready to quit yet. He’s set a two-year deadline to either rediscover his joy for the sport or walk away. “I don’t have to win tournaments, but I just want to feel like I’m enjoying the game,” he said. “I’d like to go out with a smile on my face.”

With the World Championship approaching, O’Sullivan remains uncertain about participating. “If I was to go to Sheffield, I’d be happy with just winning a match,” he admitted. “That’d be a good result for me.”
