Who we are
snookers.pro is a snooker news and guides website run by the business Shabloool. Shabloool is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
The short version
- You can read the whole site without an account.
- We set no cookies for visitors and show no advertising.
- We count visits without cookies and without storing your IP address.
- Some links are affiliate links to AliExpress. If you click one, that shop may set its own cookies.
- We do not sell your data.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with our own small counter that runs on our own server (stats.purian.uk). It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and no third party receives this data.
For each page view your browser sends us the page address (without the query part, except the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign tags of a link), the domain of the site that referred you, and the user-agent string that browsers send with every request. The user-agent is used only to tell phones, tablets and desktops apart and to filter out bots; it is not stored.
Your IP address is not stored. To count unique visitors per day we keep a one-way hash of your IP address, your browser and a random value (a “salt”) that is replaced every day and then deleted, so a visit cannot be linked to a person, to another day or to our other websites. Visit records are deleted after about 13 months (400 days).
Besides our own counter, the site uses these statistics tools:
- Jetpack Stats (by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com). A small script loaded from stats.wp.com sends each page view to Automattic: the page address, the referring page, and, as part of the request, your IP address and browser details. Automattic uses this to show us aggregated statistics; see Automattic’s privacy policy. Jetpack Stats does not set cookies, respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting and does not count logged-in users.
- Statify, a WordPress plugin that counts page views on our own web server. It records only the date, the page address and the referring page. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, and its entries are deleted after 14 days.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which adds a small script that counts visits and measures how fast pages load. It uses no cookies or browser storage; the page address, referring page, browser type and load timings are sent to Cloudflare.
Hosting and delivery
The site is hosted by IONOS and delivered through Cloudflare. Like every web server, they receive your IP address and browser details with each request in order to send you the page and protect the site against attacks. Our site and its database are backed up by Jetpack (Automattic).
Affiliate links and partner cookies
Some posts contain affiliate links to AliExpress; those posts say so at the top. When you click such a link you leave our site. AliExpress may then set cookies or similar technology in your browser to record that you came from us, so that we can be paid a commission if you buy something. The shop does not give us your name, email or address. Those cookies are controlled by the shop and covered by its own privacy policy. More in our affiliate disclosure.
Links to our sister site bestsnookercue.com carry tracking tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) that say which page the link was on. They contain no personal data.
Newsletter
Some pages have a newsletter sign-up form. The email address you enter is sent directly to our sister site bestsnookercue.com, which runs the newsletter, asks you to confirm your address before sending anything, and lets you unsubscribe from every email. snookers.pro does not store it.
Comments
Comments are currently not open to the public: only registered users can comment and registration is closed. If we open comments again, a comment stores the name, email address and text you enter plus your IP address and browser details, checked for spam on our own server (Antispam Bee). An anonymised string made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service (Automattic) to show your profile picture.
Cookies
We set no cookies for visitors. WordPress sets login cookies only for our own editors when they log in. Shops you visit through our links, and other websites you go to from our pages, may set their own cookies.
Fonts, images and links to other websites
Our heading font is loaded from Google Fonts and video thumbnails from YouTube (i.ytimg.com), so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. We do not embed YouTube players; video links open on YouTube. News headlines link to the original publishers. Other websites have their own privacy policies.

Data from our own visit counter and from Statify is not shared with anyone. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use. Write to [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. Because we do not store IP addresses or set cookies, we usually hold no data that identifies an ordinary visitor.
If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the rights given by the GDPR and can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data we will update this page and the date at the top.
Governing law
This policy and the use of this website are governed by the laws of the State of Israel.
